Labor Day at Anderson Ranch Reservoir

We had an incredible fishing trip today. Doug's sister Kathy and Kiera (our new niece who is 8 months old) flew in from Wisconsin today. They got in the car with Doug's parents, youngest sister and fiance heading to Anderson Ranch Reservoir. The salmon were running and it was a sight to see.

We had gotten Jayden his own Cars fishing pole. He was so excited but had to wait to use it until after we had a nice picnic lunch of hotdogs and sandwiches. Everyone headed down to the creek and cast there poles. I was busy watching and taking pictures. Jayden lasted a long time for a four year old boy but he quickly let me know he wanted to play with baby Kiera. Jayden loves babies and he had so much fun making Kiera smile.

Ethan was netting his fish (which had to legally be put back), he loved it! Kimberly and Doug were in hog heaven. We kept 8 fish total which we hurried home to Margaret's (Doug's mom's) to cook up and eat.

Doug has decided this needs to be a tradition. The last Labor day we did this was 4 years ago when Jayden was a babe in arms. It was really a perfect day and one that I think everyone would enjoy repeating.

New Room

I have been in my room for exactly one week. Last Sunday it was completely empty. This week it is becoming a very cool classroom.

It was a bit overwhelming but amazingly with a lot of help from my family and good friends. It is looking terrific. Miss Anna and I will be sharing the room and she is brilliant. We work together well, decorating. My assistant Robin has been there everyday.

Tuesday is my first Open House night and I am hoping to be all ready to go.

It's Beginning to Look Like Fall

Yesterday was the first day of school for Ethan and Kimberly. They were both very excited. Kimberly has Miss Martin (she was her co second grade teacher as well) for 4th grade. Ethan has Mrs. White as his 3rd grade teacher. Jayden and I spent the day in my classroom. It is beginning to resemble a classroom but has a ways to go. My goal is to soon share a picture of my room.

We had a lot of excitement that night as Doug's sister Elisha announced her engagement to Brandon as well as their upcoming wedding the beginning of November. WOW!!!

Today we tried to get our chores done while the kids had their second day of school. Jayden was so cute mimicing his super hero Dad. Needless to say the lawn got well mowed.

Back to a normal schedule...ha,ha. There is a chill in the air and Doug took down the pool. Fall must be on the way, just keep watching for leaves to change.
