Okay two weekends ago Jayden locked me in the garage. I was a little ticked to say the least and let him know that locks are not toys so today experience was unexpected. I was quickly getting ready for Ashley's (Jayden's sweeties) 5th birthday party at the Roller Drome. Jayden has NO patients so of course he was hounding me. So I put my hot rollers in and dash out of the bathroom to get my earrings on and what does he do? He walks out of the bathroom and lock the door behind him. I went to get my rollers out and was locked out. Well keeping my cool was not an option after he had knocked on the bathroom door the entire time I was trying to take a shower. I had had it with him. So I said, "Jayden did you lock the door?" He replied, "Oops sorry Mom." My response was, "great Jayden now my curlers are plugged in so we are going to burn down the house and miss Ashley's party." He quickly ran to the bedroom door and unlocked it (interesting). I proceeded to put the very scared child in time out while I ranted and raved as I tried with no avail to unlock the bathroom with a curler clip. So here I am at 35 calling my dad to come unlock the bathroom. When my dad shows up Jayden is saying how sorry he is and that no one told him not to (what is this an every morning thing I have to ask??? YOU WOULD THINK HE LEARNED LAST TIME.). Well my dad is calmly saying that he needs to not lock except when he is by himself and wants privacy (I respond with NO you never lock the door again!) and my dad just mentions that he did this last week at his house. TURKEY!!!! Let me tell you we had a heart to heart and I had a changed boy the rest of the day. We did go skating at Ashley's party but only after he promised he would never do that again. The only reason I believe him is because when we got in the car to head for the party he fell dead asleep from all the stressful emotions. The one thing that is safe to say in this house is life is never dull.
