Rock Hunters

Well we didn't find our fortune in gold but we had a lot of fun looking. One of Doug and Kimberly's FAVORITE hobbies is to collect rocks. The kids had Friday off from school. Ethan had already headed to his mom's for the weekend and Doug got an itching for a picnic. So my mom and dad and I packed up a hotdog lunch and headed out. We went to Farewell Bend in Oregon. It is a beautiful state park. The day was perfect. The water had receded quite aways so there was plenty of hunting ground. Jayden and Poppy even went metal detecting around the park (until they found out it is no longer allowed) while they waited for Kimberly and Doug our die hard hunters. Lucky for us the cows came down out of the hills and "encouraged" Doug to head to the picnic table so they could get a drink. It was a nice break from the Treasure Valley even if it was only for an afternoon.
