In Prekinder this week we had some fun. When my classes study the letter Q I always end with the wedding of q and u since you never see q without his beloved u. Anyway, the kids really get a kick out of it. They bring gifts that start with either Q or U and we unwrap them and have an usher (adult) lead them to either the Q side of the room or the U according to their gift. We play wedding music and act very prim and proper. This year the BIG highlight was that my mother in-law made actual wedding cakes (one for each of my classes). It was so incredible. She is so wonderful. We had a lot of fun and of course the cake eating was the best part.
