Battle of the Books

Friday was a proud moment for me as a mom. Kimberly is my "bookworm" she has had straight A's since Kindergarten and is not afraid to work hard if necessary to keep good grades. Well this past week she and two friends have been competing against other 4th graders in "The Battle of the Books." There ended up being 24 teams. The questions were asked from a list of nine books the team was to have read. Each team being made up of 3 kids meant that each kid read 3 books and became the expert on those books. Well, Kimberly read 7 and 1/2 of the 9 and looked over the one she didn't read. They went undefeated all week and made it to the final round against a team of 3 boys. They competed in the gym infront of the entire 4th grade as well as grandparents and parents (Grandma Mitchell, Grandpa and Grandma Kiser, Trish, Dad, Jayden and I) They ended up with 2nd place by missing 2 questions. They also had to compete against the team that had one lose to keep second place. She got this really cool engraved trophy. Kimberly did such a good job and we couldn't be more pleased with all her hard work. Way to go baby!
